This was the new gearbox I put into my MIdget. I believe they all came with
Heavy Duty and hardened gears, especially the reverse idler gear (our weak
spot). It had a different input shaft than the MIdget, but so does the
spitfire, so the marina and spit input shaft may be the same. No other
differences.

Subject: Gearbox reconditioning - Marina box?
Hi there all
As most of you know, it is widely reported that the Spit 1500 shares the
same 'box as the Midget IV and the Marina. But, how exact are these boxes?
Is it a matter of simply unbolting off one car and slotting it into the
Spit? Are ALL the gears/rods etc interchangeable? Has anybody had any
experience with this or know of a website that discusses it if there are
significant differences?
Thanks (yet again!)
Paul.
