Mark, the only comment I can offer is hearsay... one of the guys I have
dealt with who is in the restoration business told me that a canvas top will
last 20 years while, vinyl much less.

I will say that while I have only seen pictures of a Spit with a canvas top,
they look a hundred times better than vinyl.
