Hi all. The fan clutch on my spit has a fair amount of play in it, and I
get a rumbling type of vibration from the engine at around 1500 to 2,000
rpm. I think it's the play in the vicous clutch(god, could it be camshaft
wear that's causing the noise?).
What are the advantages to having the viscous fan as opposed to just having
a solid mounted fan ala early spits? The fan clutches are pretty expensive
new, and I can't find a used one that's good around here. I guess an
electric setup is an option, but I here different opinions on their
usefullness as well.
Thanks in advance...
