When I re-did my ball joints I was also planning to get an separator.
Called my local parts store and ask if they have one on hand. The guy
on the other end said they have but ask me what I wanted it for. I told
him was to change ball joints, and he ask me if I was planning to keep
the old ones. I told him no, and he said just hammer the old joints out
no need for a separator.
