electrical problem

Jiggle the big brown wire going to the starter solenoid. I have an
intermittent short in mine-exhibiting the same symptoms every so often.
Check ALL the bullet connectors and electrical "joins" under the bonnet.
Most everything vibrates loose at least once a year.
This was a safety precaution instilled in the type by Triumph to release the
anti-electron "Lucas" gases which built up and could cause a small
explosion. :)

Of course, cars fitted with a rear anti-sway bar, z bar, crow bar or wet bar
are particularly prone to the build up of Lucas Gas.
Those of us with stock rear ends (on the car) are wondering when that thread
will fizzle.
