Jeff, this is really a fantastic idea.  I am considering doing the same.
Question, though.  I am not sure my stock radio works electronically.   The
push buttons and tuner will manually work, but no sound.  I haven't
investigated it to confirm it is not functional and won't if it is not an
issue.  What do you think?
