I just want to jump in and say that I DO appreciate Ted's comments. It's
good to know this sort of thing. I really had no idea that anyone still
owned the rights or might be upset with my mock ads, etc. I'm not expecting
any trouble, but I'm glad that I won't be broadsided if I receive something
in the mail from Jaguar other than a solicitation to test drive their cars
at my local Jaguar dealership.
I also like Terry's idea of the disclaimer, though the header on my page
"Just for fun: advertisements that never were" certainly helps the viewer
draw the distinction between merchandising and my creative art endeavors.
In any event, if Jaguar issues me a cease and desist, I will do just that.
The whole concept was based on fun and nostalgia. If it stops being fun,
I'll have no incentive to display it, other than as my own screensaver.
