Just thought I'd let Marc Hesselink and everyone else know that it's clear
and in the low 80's today in San Diego. I wish I could say I was sorry
about that, but I'm not. Of course, you all know that my hope is to
encourage more of you to move to San Diego to help drive up my property
values. That's my only motivation for ever mentioning the weather in my
posts.
Back to the overheating temps at idle. If you recall, I mentioned that my
heater wasn't working -- no heat. A few listers suggested that I do a
reverse flush of the heater core, which I haven't had the chance to do yet.
Do you suppose these problems are related somehow? Also, during regular
driving, the temp doesn't rise above the mid point at all. If you look at
your temp guages (at least on the <Mk3 spits), there are two little dots on
the bottom of the guage in the center. I seem to hover around the first dot
during normal driving.
On another matter, any progress in fabricating those neoprene (or whatever)
oil pan gaskets?
And finally, okay, I'll decrease the pressure in my tires to about 24 in the
front and 28 or 30 PSI in the back. In my opinion, it's much better to err
on the side more than the recommended (car, not tire)pressure than not
enough.
Whoops! I almost forgot: More items have been added to the Totally Triumph
auction and proxy bidding is now available. Details at the auction site.
Best wishes,
