I stopped by the local LBC shoppe today for a new stock of oil filters and
while
talking with the parts guy regarding all the cool stuff the list members
have
come-up with (joe's camber compensator and such), I mentioned that Barry had
made an "auto-cad" type of design for the side marker lamp rubbers which are
evidently made of unobtanium.
He commented that he was able to get those side marker lamp rubbers last
summer and he didn't have anyone requesting them, so he didn't order a large
number. I argued that no one on the list has been able to find a maker for
this
part, and he opened a book with the side maker lamps (rimmer I believe) and
confirmed we were talking about the same part.
To make a long story longer, the parts guy is going to check with that parts
manufacturer and see about getting another supply of them. I told him if he
was able to buy the sets of 4, there would be a number of people interested.
Not to get everyone's hopes up for disappointment, but I'll let you know if
it pans out when I hear from him (assume next week).
