Bernhard,
    Remove the air cleaner and check the movement of the damper piston in 
the carburettor.  It may be icing up in the cold weather and sticking.  If 
it is, loosen it with a carburettor spray cleaner and also don't forget to 
top up the oil in the dashpot.
