1979 Spit. Drive train was running strong. Body has some rust here and
there. Interior - poor to fair. Brand new wide tires all around. Recently
rebuilt carb. Top and top frame in good shape as the top was down. New rear
air shocks in boxes. Car was mechanically sound and driven regularly. Body
and interior needed work. It was going to be restored once my TR6 was
finished. Some body panels intact. Drive train intact. It was a side
collision.. not front end.
The Spit was fun while it lasted. That is until I passed someone who decided
to make a left hand turn... no signal. She said she never saw me. Her guess
was that I was so small compared to her high off the ground, "Sherman Tank"
SUV. My passenger side got clipped and pushed me off the road into a tree. I
made impact with the tree smack in the center of the driver door which is
now a "crescent moon shape". The frame is probably out of whack now. The
windshield is collapsed and broken. I have no idea how I survived the
crash!! Other motorists who came to my aid said that I was unconscious for a
few minutes and pinned in the driver seat. My left side is severely bruised.
But that's it. No broken bones or severe cuts. The cat scan confirmed that
my head is still empty but otherwise normal. I'm VERY lucky!
Make me an offer.
Brattleboro, Vermont
(where VT, NH and MA all come together)
Welp....now I REALLY need to get the TR6 finished and on the road!!
