Hi everyone. So the other day, I take my Spitfire down from the jack stands
after another month of fiddling around, anxious to try a drive with the
wheels staying on for a change. I go to release the handbrake by pulling up
a notch and guess what? Doesn't release. Try again. Still no good, but
now the brake is REALLY tight. I finally managed to figure out a way to get
the dang notch off the teeth so the thing would disengage, but obviously I
have a new problem. What part has worn out or become misaligned? Some sort
of a spring?

As a funny aside, my wife commented today that the Spitfire looks like a
skateboard with sheetmetal wrapped around it and jokingly suggested that I
wear my old motorcycle helmet while driving it. The other day, when I took
it out for the first time since the wheel fell off last month (VB never HAS
gotten back to me about the lousy adapter nuts BTW), my wife wanted to know
"where the (life) insurance papers are" again.

Thanks in advance.
