I thought I'd been playing along, but I guess I missed that one. And I'm
willing to stand up with you and say it's perfectly OK to buy a Miata. It's
a great little car, gives a lot and doesn't ask anything but gas in return.
And it offers a little bit of what your Spit offers in the form of open
motoring without (albeit without some of the "wow" factor). Hell, even Peter
Egan (long-time Road & Track columnist and confirmed British car guy)
recently bought a Miata. So don't feel like you've gone over to the dark
side. But if it helps I can stick a coffee can over my mouth and tell you
I'm your father and offer to rule the universe with you if you'll let me
drive your Miata.
