I'd say almost the opposite. I'd _love_ a nasc, where we talked about the
cars, how to fix them, etc. you know, a car club. a
pseudo-wannabe-military thing, where we call people 'major' who aren't is
completely uninteresting to me. note: references to the supermarine
spitfire aren't horrible, but these are cars we're talking about here,
driven by civilians (mostly) in a civilian population, in peacetime.
making the plane/military a central theme is a turn off for me.

total agreement here. the local triumph club is great--if you own a tr6,
250, or to a lesser extent a 3 or 4. spitfires and gts are not welcome.
a shame, I'd love to have a club of our own.
