Patrick, it is the spokes and splines that you need to check out. Surface
rust is easily taken care of. About 4 years ago I checked in to getting my
wires redone without success. They mostly told me to send them the wheels
and they would evaluate them. Most renovations only include the replacement
of spokes. Nothing about re-machining the splines. I believe I reached the
conclusion (with help) that it is better to buy new ones (which I haven't
done...big $$$$). Considering how many things can go wrong with them, I
would not feel comfortable with reconditioning UNLESS I had a very good
reference. Now, someone will contradict me, I'm sure; So, if there is some
such reference to be had, let's hear it.
