are you looking to mount it on the rear fender or up front next to the 
windshield?
Either way I have found the fully automatic power antenna (no name brand)
sold at Pep Boys (auto chain here in MD) will fit with no problem.

Has anyone ever found an electric antennae that will mount into the stock
location on a late model spit.  The standard antennas are just too big.
