the "doololly" mounted on the back of the speedo is the voltage regulator
(if your'e gas/temp gauges wont settle down-try replacing the thing-I think
12 bucks or so from the catalogs)

can't help you with the Haynes wiring diagram on item # 17.  Most of my
under-dash wires are smoky black and real brittle, for some reason ;)
