Jeff,
I have a Chrome Roll bar in my Mk1 Spit and the top firs without any
problems. However, the Mk1 and Mk2 Tops don't fold back into the well
behind the seat as the Mk3 does. That probably is the biggest obstacle
to proper fitting is to get the frame to clear it when it is put up or
down.
But to answer your question, no the tops and roll bars are not mutually
exclusive.
