I really like the idea of swapping in a Honda 1500 Goldwing engine...
you would get engine/transmission all in one package.. and very very
light
weight. not to mention ultra reliable and would last virutally forever..


not exactly a common swap. but it would be interesting non-the-less.
but I would suspect that the power band wouldnt be good for trying to 
motivate a spitfire.
