The windshield gasket seems to be made from some neoprene-like rubber, certainly not latex! Consider the rubber gasket on an oil filter. That doesn't seem to be harmed by contact with hot oil! So I doubt that Vaseline would harm the gasket, but it would stay slippery for too long after you are done installing it. You want something that sort of dries up or gets washed off after the installation is done. Doug Braun '72 Spit |
