Listfires:
I managed to break the head off of my oil pressure switch. Unfortunately,
there
is a little passage in the shaft of the switch that is now open and blowing
oil.
Fortunately, my extractor fit nicely into that passage. Unfortunately, my
extractor
snapped off flush. Fortunately, it now plugs the passage. Unfortunately, I
now
have no way to monitor oil pressure.
Do I have any options other than dropping the oil pan, removing the oil pump
(it appears that the drive runs behind the switch) and drilling and retapping?
Can I buy an oil pressure gauge, remove one of the oil galley plugs and
install
it there?
TIA as always!
