Greetings Patrick et al.
It looks like the photos on your web page are of a 76+ frame. USA 73's had
1500 engines with a FM prefix, 1296's would be pre 73 unless they were Euro
specs. I can see an alternator in the photo also, so you must have a Neg
ground vehicle. I would suspect the only thing 63 about your spit is the
tub. I don't know how you would mount a 63 front bumper on a 1500 frame
unless your bonnet and bumper are 1500's also. Actually it's not a bad mix.
I have 4 Mk1's(as of next week), parts of a IV, and 3 1500's. I plan to make
one Mk1 and one 1500 totally original and put a totally mechanically upgraded
1500 on a Mk1 body and frame and interior. Does anyone know if there are any
problems running a 1500 rear end (with a 2 inch wider track) on a Mk1-3 body?
What are the largest size tires that can be run under that type of set up
(1500 rear end-Mk1 body), plus adding WW hub adapters and WW's?
To Patrick: Be careful with your wiring if your working from wiring diagrams.
Mk1 and 1500 wiring harnesses do not match up very well.
To Joe Curry: Yes, I will get all the cars registered ASAP.
To all: I'm looking for any kind of OD(working,non-worling, J or D), and a
period correct boot rack for a MK1, also a good set of WW hub adapters and an
eared set of knockoffs. Have lots of stuff to trade.
