Can't help you with the fuel pump, but upon bringing my 72 home, I spent
almost the entire weekend removing about every connection, wire brushing,
and spraying with "electronic cleaner". Seems to have worked well, as
everything lights up. The process is a good way to find less than suitable
sections of wiring anyway.
