Yep cast iron all right, mine was painted dark brown -maroon.  The 1500
overdrive box ways in at 48kg @120lb because of it!  Got my box on the home
scails when I had it out.

PS anyone want to weigh there boxes and engin when they have it out!

Interesting to get the different specs.

Maybe as a data page on Joe's web site. I might even be able to drop the
spair GK 1300 short block to see what that weighs as well as the
cylinderhead.
