In a word, "YES". I think I will probably go that route. The original
plastic used on the knobs was too brittle and not really suitable for that
application. The design and shape are simple enough to do using my drill
press as a vertical lathe. The only problem I have now is that I need a
knob to use as a model!

Could it be possible to get some nylon, or other type of "plastic" stock and
machine something that is close? Yes it would not be original, but it beats
the superglue and epoxy, which are not real good at holding parts together
that are exposed to cyclic loading.
Also anyone know of a good Herald Convertible for salel on the East Coast?
