Oh, you probably would like some follow up information as well. :)
Your best bet is to find a rotoflex equipped GT6+ frame and mount your
Spitfire body onto it.
There are brackets welded to the frame that don't come off easily and
fabricating them would not be cheap. Also, you would have to fix the
road spring to the differential and eliminate the swing spring of the
1500. That requires drilling and tapping another two holes in your 1500
differential to support the fixed spring.
You will also have to obtain a pair of GT6+ upper shock mounts and
bumpers and attach in the Spit fender well.
In short, part out a GT6+ and use the critical parts on the 1500. Some
modifications of the frame will be required to complete the task (such
as the bonnet hinges) but IMHO it's easier to do that than try to adapt
to the 1500 frame.
Or better still, why not change to an early Spit fixed road spring and
add a camber compensator. It will be much easier and less costly in the
long run. (Sorry about the commercial plug) :)
