FWIW, when the diff on my '69 TR-6 went, I found a used one from Jay at
American Imports in Indy for $125.
Worked fine for the rest of the 4 years (and 18,000 miles) that I owned the
car. When I got the new diff home I realized that it was from a TR-4A IRS
so I just used the existing diff's back plate. Once I cleaned up the
existing diff, it had a TR-4 serial number too! Don't know if the original
owner put it in or if the factory was using up parts at the beginning of the
TR-6 model run.
Anyway, the used diff was a heck of alot cheaper then a rebuilt one.
