I'll make this short n sweet since it's 4am, and I just got back from 4
hours of computer work in addition to 4 hours of car work.

I took off the rubber rear bumper today in hopes of repainting it.

This bumper unit does NOT want to be dismantled. I managed to get one
underrider off and it's drying right now, BUT, the other one won't budge. In
order to get it off, I have to take off the 10 pesky star screw thingys off.

So far, these 10 screws have broken 3 drive bits, and survived numerous
attempts at drilling, etc. I even used the cutter from my dremel to cut a
slit into it, and I used a large flathead screwdriver bit on a socket wrench
to no avail.

What's the magic key for getting these things off? I never had to do the
time-old tradition of drilling off a pesky bolt/screw, but I'm at a loss.
I'm considering taking it to the local machine shop and have them take a
stab at it, and replace them with REAL bolts, as in ones that can actually
be removed.

any ideas? I'll be up in about 8-9 hours to try it again.

On a more positive note, i was driving around and managed to see a Spit in a
shop that looked EXACTLY like mine, right down to the racing stripes. I
gotta take a few snapshots, and maybe see if I can buy the hood off. heh.
