GT6 servo was used to boost the front brakes only, if this fails you lock
your back wheels, and you can imagin what would happen. If you upgrade to a
more powerfull servo, you have too much force up front, and not enough to
keep the rear under control.

All the servo does is to make the job of pushing down the pedal easier, more
like the . You can lock the wheels on the normal system quite easly, I have
espeicaly in wet weather, coming up to a roundabout and I didn't notice the
ford had put his foot down to the right. All my wheels lock at the same
time, because my brakes are just about as good as they came out of the
factory! It's just that you dont have to work as hard to lock the wheels
with a servo!

As for conversions, I have seen them in motorfators around here, for about
100 pounds as a general kit. They go on the bulkhead, with the cylinder
over the clutch MC. There are loads of cars with external servos, buy an
overhaull kit, and get one from a scrap yard. Then once you are satisfied
that it's safe fit it. I read about one chap with arthritus, who fitted it
to the clutch on his car, only worked on the down stroke so must have been
wierd.

If you have a servo the general opinion seems to be, fit braided SS brake
hoses. Then swap your MC for a thinner diamiter one from a GT6 to firm up
the pedal feel. A servo helps if you have harder brake pads which need more
force, if you upgrade your calipers to give you more more pad surface area
the brakes become much harder.

I am currently searching the scrap yards for a BL wedge from which I will
proform sergery and remove it's 4pot's.

What I want to know is can you fit ABS brakes to a Spitfire, what sensors
and other ancilerys do you need!

PS, help my spell checker has dissaperd! Supose having completed a degree
in computing I should know how to solve this, but I don't pretend to
understand the strange way Microsoft programs interact!
