Starting at the front of the tub, there are two bolts
infront of the bulkhead into captive nuts in the front
chassis outriggers. The next pair are in the
footwells, at the outer edges near the sill. These
bolt through the ends of the front chassis outriggers
to a nut - hold one end with some self gripping
pliers, as it is very difficult to reach both ends at
the same time. Moving further down, the dash support
bracket bolts through into the chassis, 2 bolts each
side. A little further back there are another two
bolts each side that go through the box panel that
extends from the transmission tunnel to the inner
sills, in front of the seats. these bolt into a tapped
captive plate on the chassis. You might, depending
upon model, ie some late Mk3's and on, have seat belt
mounts that screw into the chassis on the transmission
tunnel, rear of the handbrake. If they come up
vertically they are in the chassis, if not, then you
do not need to take them out. Whilst here, do not
forget to undo and release the handbrake cable from
the handbrake. Next back are a pair of bolts that are
right behind the vertical step in the floor behind the
seats. These bolt directly into the chassis. The last
two mounting bolts are under the petrol tank, and bolt
into the top of the shock absorber mountings on the
chassis.

Do not forget to remove the rear radius arms from the
rear suspension, the accelerator linkage, choke
linkage, brake and clutch pipes, heater hoses,
speedo/revcounter cables, and wiring loom. After all
that, just lift off!
