One of our club members has just purchased a Spitfire. He's been cleaning it up, and noticed it has a strange engine number. It's a 1976 Spitfire (according to registration), and the engine number is 2972E SS. (I'm not certain of the spacing of the numbers and letters). I too have never seen "SS" on an engine. Any ideas on what it means? Michael michael_bayrock@translink.bc.ca bayrock@apexmail.com |
