Welcome to the Garden State. Saw you last Sunday, right? Joined the NJ
Triumph Association yet?

For a car registered as a daily driver, a '72 only needs to pass an idle
test. If registered as an Antique (QQ Plates) no inspection at all is
needed, but other restrictions are supposed to apply. [note choice of
wording] There is currently no inspection of emission devices as in
California.

You may be aware that the NJ inspection requirements are in a state of
change, but no changes are planned for 1980 or older vehicles. (Well OK,
maybe inspection wait times will go up!)

Because of the wet wintry climate here, junkyard cars become useless after
20 years or so. There ARE individuals with parts Spitfires that will sell
a piece to you if they have it.
