You should be able to get 6000 RPM easily my stock GT6+ has no trouble at
all pulling at speed.  The only difference from stock was the replacement
of the stock dia exhaust tubing with 2" exhaust tubing.  The rest of the
system, manifold, muffler is as original. You might try to see if you have
a restriction of some kind in the exhaust system somewhere.  If you can't
get the gasses out, you can't get the fuel/air in -
