The older type does have a park switch, but it's not integrated into the
motor - it's the little white (or white-ish, depending on age!) box that
sits on top of the motor, kind of next to the cylindrical housing, near
where the cable from the actual wipers comes into the motor. It comes
off easily - just remove the electrical connections, and then it slides
sideways, away from the motor housing, towards the outside of the car.
I've just replaced mine because it was faulty -
I didn't bother to take a proper look at how it can be adjusted, because
my wipers are adjusted fine, but it didn't look like it would be too
difficult to work out. From what I remember, there's a wheel under the
switch with a raised bit in the park position. The raised bit causes a
button on the bottom of the switch to be depressed, which closes one of
the connections. I would think that adjusting this is just a case of
moving this wheel, although I don't know how you'd do that.
As for not moving properly, check for bad connections (the earth would
be the first place to look if it runs slowly at both speeds, I'd guess).
And by the way, my wipers park perfectly when the car's stationary, but
when moving at 70mph they park a few inches up on the windscreen - I
figure this is just because of the speed of the air moving over them and
there's not much I can do about it (besides which it doesn't bother me
all that much).
