I have a question:
I have two overdrive mounting plates, both are supposed to be for 1500
spits (J type). The plates are not the same. One plate is a good inch
longer than the other and although the four bolt holes that attach the
plate to the chassis are in the same place, the 1/8" inch depression for
the transmission mount and the subsequent oblong holes for adjustment are
not. The depression and holes are off by 1/2 inch.
Does anybody out there know why there are two distinct plates? Which one
is for the spitfire? If they are both for the spitfire, why are the holes
in different locations?
