We're in the process of removing the engine from my 74 Spitfire 1500, but we've run into a problem. We don't seem to get the engine far enough forward to disengage the transmission input shaft from the clutch because the oil pan comes up against the front frame cross member. We think we will damage the clutch/transmission shaft if we raise the engine high enough to clear the oil pan (about 4 inches). The transmission has been jacked about as high as it will go. Any suggestions? Thanks Chris Pappathopoulos |
