The good old "Knecker Knob" helped me out a lot. Of course they're blatantly
illegal in Utah, and I always called mine a "Suicide Knob".

For the first two years I drove, my left arm was in and out of a cast (Or
similar
contraption). It allowed me to drive one handed (luckily I had an automatic).
They even let me take the driving test with it (The officer did point out it was
illegal, but overlooked it due to my circumstance).

Still drive with one hand most of the time, even while shifting and turning
tight corners.
