Replacing front outriggers

Hi,

A 'simple' question, is it possible to replace the front outriggers on =
a
Spitfire 1500
without removing the tub?

Mine have crumpled underneath, I think where the mount points have rott=
ed and
bent when the previous owner tried to jack her up.

The outriggers are accessible from the engine compartment with the tub =
still
mounted, if I support the corner of the tub can I remove the old one an=
d weld
on a fresh one?
