Hi James First, get your camber looked at. I had mine looked at after I had finished restoring the Spitfire I'd bought and the DPO had left it way out. Second, my Mk2 has an insulating spacer about 10/12mm thick between the carb and the inlet manifold. Mine were a mess, so I made new ones from Tufnol, a phenolic fibre sheeting used in the electrical trade as insulating material. So far, everything seem to work OK.
