I am now the proud owner of a '79 Spit and have been driving it every
chance I get since I took ownership last Thursday. Why didn't I get one
sooner? Sure it has a few electrical "opportunities" but those projects
will get me through the dreary winter months.
Does anyone have any routine (preventative) maintenance tips that they
swear by such as:
- Oil additives such as Prolong or Slick 50 - are they good or a waste
of $
- Gas additives (my dad's Healey club swears by something called Mystery
Oil)
- Fluid change outs (my mechanic swears to change the coolant
once/year).
- Anything to religiously check.
Can anyone recommend any performance enhancing modifications like a new
carb or exhaust system? I don't want to make it a racer, but might like
to get a little boost.
Thanks,
Bob Bollinger
