Hard to say. I doubt it's vapor lock, but it's possible. IT does sound
like some sort of fuel delivery problem, perhaps weak fuel pump or
problem with the carburetor float level, or ???

If it should prove to be vapor lock, rerouting the fuel lines away from
the exhaust manifold or other sources of excessive heat would help.

Good luck; keep us posted!
