That is correct for the 1970 model year only, which makes it somewhat
rare.

Difficult to say. The "noise" could be coming from the differential. (Was
the replacement a "new" one or a properly rebuilt one?) It could also be
u-joints (not too expensive) or axle bearings (not too expensive unless
the axles have been damaged by failed bearings, in which case you'll need
axles as well). Possibly everything back there just needs some
lubrication?

I prefer the Bentley, which is largely a reprint of the factory workshop
manual. But Haynes is ok. As for where to buy them, I'll defer to list
members in the UK.
