89-93 are 90a, 94-95 are 120a. (mtx)

I would not use a SLO alternator even if it fit (unless it were somehow better)

Pretty much what Dave said. If the alternator is the wrong physical
size, it will mess the belt up, but that's pretty obvious. As long as it
fits, if it's lower amperage, it will simply not be able to supply as
much power and will draw more from the battery based on how many loads
you place on it. A higher amperage alternator will simply not have to
work as hard, but I doubt you'll run into that, aren't MTX alternators
like 120A? So yeah, just make sure you check up on the battery often if
you get a weaker amp. You should be fine with anything down to 90A,
though. Anything lower, and I'd be worried.

Jason

p.s. FYI, 14V*120A=1680W; 14V*90A=1260W; 14V*70A=980W...

A car will run without any alternator at all, for awhile. So that's not
really the issue. The issue is will it fit? I don't know. If it fits,
it will most likely work. It may not be the exact same output as the
SHO alternator, but it should still work.

If an alternator for a standard Taurus were installed in an SHO, does
anyone know how that car would react? Would it even run?
