I've tracked down my '95 ATX's "no ABS" issue to the ABS pump/motor.
I've obtained a known working pump from a '95 SLO and I will soon be
attempting to swap them. I don't want to screw anything up, so I
figured I ought to see what you all think.
Physically swapping the two units should be pretty easy, but my question
comes with the "before" and "after".
Is there anything I need to do before I disconnect and remove my old ABS
pump? Any gotchas I should be prepared for? I will have air tools and
plenty of jacks and jack stands.
Afterwards, when I get the "new" unit in, what do I need to do with
regards to bleeding/filling/etc the system? Will I need one of those
Thextron dealies? If so, where is the best place to get one?
Anyone have any tips or tricks for this procedure? Should I disconnect
the battery to reset anything? Is there anything else that I'm not
thinking of?
TIA.
Regards,
Jon Heese
