--===============7258550877360483035== --0000000000001484ff064c9d2e78 I'm putting a Triumph Spitfire 1500 engine together, and the fuel pump I have requires a spacer. I've lost the studs that were on the car, and a 5/16-24 x 1-3/4 stud is scarce around here. I can easily get a 5/16-24 x 1-1/2" bolt which should have the same effective length so as not to hit the camshaft. Is there any practical difference between a stud and a bolt in this application, other than the slight challenge of keeping all the parts lined up while I get the bolt started? -- Jeff --0000000000001484ff064c9d2e78 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <div dir=3D"auto">I'm putting a Triumph Spitfire 1500 engine together, = and the fuel pump I have requires a spacer.=C2=A0 I've lost the studs t= hat were on the car, and a 5/16-24 x 1-3/4 stud is scarce around here.<div = dir=3D"auto"><br></div><div dir=3D"auto">I can easily get a 5/16-24 x 1-1/2= " bolt which should have the same effective length so as not to hit th= e camshaft.=C2=A0 Is there any practical difference between a stud and a bo= lt in this application, other than the slight challenge of keeping all the = parts lined up while I get the bolt started?</div><div dir=3D"auto"><br></d= iv><div dir=3D"auto">=C2=A0-- Jeff</div></div> --0000000000001484ff064c9d2e78-- --===============7258550877360483035== Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: inline _______________________________________________ Shop-talk@autox.team.net Archive: http://www.team.net/pipermail/shop-talk http://autox.team.net/archive --===============7258550877360483035==-- |
