Good stuff, however here=E2=80=99s my objectives:
1. The room fan is currently installed and controlled by a wall switch
2. The pressure pad or motion sensor will be located 15=E2=80=99 away =
and 5=E2=80=99=20
lower elevation (floor level) from the wall switch.
3. I do not want to tear into the walls, so there needs to be an RF=20
link between the sensor and the wall switch.=20
4. The sensor (pressure pad or heat/? sensor) could be dc (battery)=20
or could utilize the 110V outlet located 16=E2=80=9D from the cat box =
entry point.
5. It would be nice to keep the actual wall switch in operation, but =
the=20
new RF switch (with timer) needs to be located at the wall switch =
location.

Wouldn't even need the light part. The make a motion sensor that can =
replace a wall switch. Like this one:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015G8VLNA/ref=3Dcm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_TvkxCbMCBJV=
E7
If that doesn't work for you there are stand alone motion sensors that =
could be placed near the cat pan to only detect cats.=20
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01L7COUYG/ref=3Dcm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_2xkxCb2055T=
PW
If you are really set on a pressure pad sensor, I'd probably gin =
something up with an Arduino and a Relay. More work in HW/SW =
development, but the possibilities are endless. You could log all the =
cat box activity, send a text after a set number of visits to remind you =
to scoop the litter.... This has a high potential for feature creep... =
Gotta run now, off to the shop to start coding....
