I will second the TomCat poison baits. I place several bait stations
around the outside of the house to prevent them form getting in in the
first place. I also have a few in the attic. Since I started using them I
have never found any evidence of mice (dead or alive) in the house. I
never did figure out where they were getting in, but the problem was
solved. Do be sure to check local law, as some places don't allow using
poison outdoors. And don't put them more than a few feet from the house so
as to reduce the probability that a bird of pray will snatch up a poisoned
mouse.
