I've had similar on my '99 F250. It was known issue on one of the Yahoo
Groups I used to monitor. The fix involved WD-40 and spraying either the
hinge or latch mechanisms. I suffer from CRS, sorry I can't specify the
exact fix. So I just spray both from time to time.
