I'm looking for comments (good or bad) on the Maximat V-10 (10" x 25") metal
lathe. There is one for sale in the local vicinity, but I have no idea on
this thing. It's made in Austria, and looks to be finished very nicely, but
I'm a little concerned about obtaining spare parts since they don't make them
anymore. I'm a rank amateur to metal work, and this seems like at nice
smaller lathe to start on, rather than buying a big new 12" x 36" Chinese-made
lathe from HF or similar sources.
