Disconnect the booster vacuum hose at the intake manifold and plug the =
vacuum leak you just created. Drive the truck and hit the brakes. It =
is going to take more leg power to stop the truck at about the same rate =
as it did with the booster connected, but give it an honest try. Does =
the engine die? If no, the booster is the problem. If yes, the carb =
float may be set too high allowing gas from the float chamber to slosh =
into the intake.

Subject: [Oletrucks] Idle problem
=20
I'm still fighting this same problem with the 235 engine in my '50 3600. =
I have front & rear disc brakes and have installed a new power booster =
thinking that would solve my problem, but it did not. When I apply the =
brakes to stop at any spreed, the idle speed drops and the engine dies. =
Sitting still, this does not happen, I can step on the brakes and no =
change in idle speed. Only at a rolling stop????
